Reflective essay draft

This semester in the class of English 111 we have learned how to get a clue to be good in college, we have got so much information that our group broke down into three main categories, which are Myself, College life, and Social life; we have learned many good things in each of these categories. All the information we got is very helpful and we know is going to help us for the rest of our careers as students and human beings, as well as in our everyday life.
In the category about myself we have three main things that we learn, the first one is personality. We learned about our learning styles, each one of us now can tell how they are, and how they act around other people, it gave me answers to questions that I wonder for most of my life as a student, this activity helped me found out that I am a ISTP, knowing this have made me a better person, I can understand other people’s reactions and way to behave around different situations, I can also control my emotions a little bit more.
Knowing about what habits we have and what we need to work on is good for ourselves, is always good to be aware of the bad or good habits we have so we can correct them and be a better person. The habit I have being working on is procrastinating in doing my homework. Before this assignment I did not realized that I was procrastinating as much as I do. It is a very bad habit to have specially because I am a student and I want to go far and do things the right way. Now days I am more worry about my homework, I put all my effort to do it before the dead line, and do it the right way. I just have to get my schedule right and get space for my homework, be responsible and work before playing.
A very nice topic that I liked was success, how to be successful, what do I need to be a successful person and student. There are a couple of things that we all need to work on and do to be successful. I learned that I need to work hard to get what I want; I have to start with something that I can accomplish right now so later on I can reach the “top of the mountain”. There are going to be many obstacles on my way but I have to put them on the side and keep going. Always doing what is right and do it at the right time.
College life is a wide topic to talk about; I learned where all the resources were here at J. sergeant Reynolds, there is a place to go for each different thing, we have advising options, financial aid opportunities for every single student, we also have the college’s web site where we can find jobs, requirements for our careers and majors, we have an email where we can get in contact with our professors and many more things. We also have a big library and many computers for research or just go and do a project, print out assignments and do your homework. How or what we need to do to transfer to another college if that is what I want to do; we even have a game room to go and relax for a while after a hard day of school. We have so many resources and opportunities to be successful and good student, have a responsible and organized student life and help management my time as a student, as a worker, as a girlfriend, as a friend, as a daughter, this is something that is helping me for the rest of my life.
Social life, this class helped me to be more social, met more people and interact with them. Few months ago I would not get together with my classmates and study, but this class changed that fact of me, now, today I am seating in a study room in a library with four of my classmates, and it feels good to be able to count on other people just like me, students and teenagers. This makes me feel better because I know that in the future I am not going to be as shy as I was before.
Organization in college is the key for success. We need to manage our time in a way that we can finish and accomplish what is more important in college and our lives. Do homework or study first than playing Xbox 360, watching TV or hanging out with friends.
In overall I enjoy this class very much, it was very helpful. The learning community is a great idea, combining the classes to help the students to do well in college and get more involved in each of our classes, where we are, and where do we want to go. I put a lot of effort in this class, and made sure to understand all the material that was presented to me to do all the homework and assignments the correct way. I worked hard and gave the best of me to deserve an “A” as a final grade.
